Thanks, Astrid! I think I may have been burning too much off before encasing then—I thought we were supposed to burn it all off and then some? LOL I'll give it another try later today and see what I get?! ;-D

I tried these tonight, they turned out pretty well, I love the effect with the bubbles! I even tried different shades of blue for the centers.
Thanks for the idea, since I am new I did not know about this trick! I love it!

Care13, are 'ya gonna show us your results (wink...NUDGE!!! ) Hope you do!
Here's my first try...me thinks I need to work on getting a more complete, even coverage of the baking soda on the base! I put some into a little gravy dish and rolled the base bead around in there lightly before burning it off and proceeding with the double encasing, but from the looks of 'em I didn't get an even application of the BS.
Wondering if it would work better if I laid out a line of it on a marver to roll over; of course, what a time I'd have explaining THAT to my kids if they happened to walk in and see that lying there on my work bench! Jeeze, it's bad enough KNOWING mommy is a GLASS HO; imagine trying to explain that I've not turned into a CRACK HO too!
Any tips on applying the BS evenly (without jeopardizing my angelic image, that is ) would be sincerely appreciated.
These are "Poppy" base with very Pale Pink double encasing:

Hi De,
Firstly I think that the bubble beads go so well with your fish theme murrini!
I put my BS in a little jar and put the whole bead in it, this way the bead is evenly hot all the way round, maybe that helps it to stick everywhere evenly.

Beatiful Astrid! I had this idea to do my pleats on top as well but how the heck did you pull that off without the bubbles coming to the surface and popping?

A good layer of encasing will keep the bubbles from coming to the surface.
