Default Olympic Color Rods!

I put in an order with Olympic Color Rods and I'm extremely impressed!

Before I even ordered I emailed them to ask if they would send to Canada via USPS rather than the UPS listed on their site, since I hate paying the extra $ 40.00 brokerage fee that UPS charges. They said sure, no problem, just make sure to put something in the Notes To Seller.

My package arrived today and the glass is extremely well packed -- in the event of Armageddon this glass would have still arrived whole, I'm sure of it -- and I also loved the use of shredded newspapers for packing material, since it's easy to clean up and also recyclable/compostable.

Thanks!

I know this sounds silly... but I ordered last night - and was mystified by "bundle*" as nowhere could I find what it was referencing... I'm guessing it's 1/4kilo? but - who knows. I plan to pull to stringer so - so long as it's not frit - I'm OK, still curious tho... anyone??

On the Web site, the Olympic Color Rods Catalog, page 16 of 48, it shows: *Bundle weighs approximately ¼ kilogram.

The bundle of glass is sized for lampwork; the cane is quite a bit bigger in diameter, so you did order the right type, and you also have the amount correct.

They are always so kind and helpful. I came up one hot summer day with my dog. It was much hotter than it normally gets. The girls in the office saw my plight and whisked him away to the air conditioned office while we loaded a ton of cullet in to the truck and shopped for color. The service there is great, every time!

They're awesome. I've been offered free drinks from their fridge during the summer. I went in with a couple of friends last week and got totally made fun of. We walked in and were standing in height order, without giving it any thought, and the guys thought it was hilarious.

Cane at OCR is actually the lampworker sized stuff. Don't buy rod. That's the big fat stuff for glass blowing.
