Default how many broken rods to a shipment?

just out of curiosity...mostly because i'm so new at this idk what the norm is.

if i was to buy a large NS assortment, and 1/3 of the rods were in three or more pieces....is that normal?

You should still receive some sort of compensation for broken rods. I'd still contact the vendor so they can improve their shipping practices (unless your mail carrier ran them over with the mail truck, then that's just the way it goes....).

Generally I don't find more than 1 a bundle.

22 rods. i just welded together pieces to make up 22 rods that were smashed. yea, a pain but better then waiting on replacements. and of course it was mostly rubys and garnets...most of those are the ones that broke.
must have been on the outside of the bundle. still, 8lbs of glass for $180 i'm not going to complain.

Mike,

Even if you don't want compensation ... you should let them know so they can look into what may have happened at their end.

Going by the deal ... I think I know where you got it and to date I've never had even 1 broken rod in any of their shipments.

Yup. I'd want to know that my product wasn't making the trip well. Give 'em a heads up even if it is not a complaint.

I think I've had one broken rod in all the shipments I've ever purchased. I'd definitely at least inform them.

We do need to check these before they ship. They are not wrapped tight enough and even wrapped up in bubble. Each one of these needs to be opened and repacked.
Now we know..........
Send a list of broken rods and I am happy to replace them at no cost.
Thanks,
Ron

In 10 years of beadmaking, I only had 1 broken rod.
The package was not well packed if you have so much broken rods.

Same as Elizabeth here, maybe 2 or 3 rods out of couple hundred pounds of glass. Mostly I break then myself when putting labels on them and drop them ;-(
