Default mandrel quesstions

waving:Not sure how to set up a poll, but was wondering what is the most common size of mandrel used, and where to get the best ones?

i use 3/32 about 99% of the time..i think the most popular is 3/32 or 1/16..don't know how to set up a pole..you can get a dozen 3/32 on at www.heritageglass.com for $5.95 hope that helps

It seems like no matter what size I use people want a different size. I just make beads on different size mandrels. I guess depending on what the bead will be used for can help determine the size of the mandrel. Will it be put on a thick cord or ribbon? Then a bigger mandrel. Will it be strung on something like beadalon? A smaller mandrel.

I get almost all of my mandrels at a welding supple shop. You can buy pounds and cut them to the length you want.
