How are 02 concentrator modified for lampworking?

They are not modified as far as I am aware.

I just hooked mine up to my torch and the natural gas line from the back of my gas kitchen stove and everything works as expected.

You can just use them as-is.

Some companies put different compressors in them and re-pour the sieve beds (like Available/Oxygen. Typically, though, more than performance-gains, you're paying for a guaranteed-working machine with a (usually) 3-year warranty. That's why it's good to choose a company with a good record for support.
