Sno vs Star
Which of these two whites do you think is better/easier to work? And are ether of them lead based? I might order in some borostix or ABR chinese one day, but for now GA/NS colors are just easy for me to get...

I had some Star white once upon a time, but it doesn't compare favorably to the Borostix white, or the Parramore white (which is round and more than 4", but expensive)... I really just use the Borostix white now because it's a good deal for a decent color.

Recent batches of Star White are really good. I usually use Parramore white when I need white though...

I used to use the Star white, but had some boiling problems so I have
changed to Tag drawf white & it's great - no bubbles.
Thanks, Cynthia in Australia

agreed with Cosmo, the latest batches of Star White have been very smooth.
you can never go wrong with the borostix or parramore whites though.

I recently purchased the borostix white and Chinese white from ABR. I like them both better then star and snow. Chinese seems to be the best so far.

Depends on the batch... but both the recent batches of sno and star have been really nice. Sno is stiffer, so I only use it when I want that property... star is my go to white... NS has really really improved that color.

chineese white is great, but can get textured if overworked on the outside
paramore is my choice for outisde white
star and sno have way too much air for my needs. i have even had recient batches and they just dont compare to china white or paramore.
Tag is good too, just havent used it much.

Borostick white is soft, smooth, and does not boil. We have been using it for about 3 years now... got tired of all of the air and boiling in star white, and snow white. We use it on the surface, as well as deeply encased, and haven't seen a problem yet. The other bonus is it is very inexpensive.
