Default propane and temperature

Not sure what happened today... I'm on a hothead with a bulk tank. When I lit up this afternoon (I rarely torch in the afternoon, usually at night) the flame was pulsing. I checked it tonight, and it was fine. Could the heat be causing it- it's been 85+ here and the tank is under a trashcan (4" off the ground for ventilation) I also had a problem getting the torch to turn off, it kept burning after I turned it off this afternoon, but was fine tonight. Maybe it needs to be cleaned? Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

I didn't realize you could use Propane with a hothead..........Mapp gas or brazing fuel is suggested. But it's been years since I used a hothead.

Propane is temperature sensitive.... As temperature goes up, pressure goes up... As temperate goes down, pressure goes down....

Check "temperature/pressure" chart here....

Yes propane is the least expensive of fuels and can also be considered a brazing fuel....

I use a hothead with propane Bbq tanks, I am in the tropics (rarely below 30C / 86F) with no problems, sometime I get a pulsing flame when I am nearing the end of the tank (approx 15% remaining) and a sort of vaseliney gel starts to clog things up. I clean the hose and torch with shellite (i think it's called naphtha in the US?) which works like magic!
