Default Does the Orient only have 1 glass factory?

People refer to chinese glass. ABR sells Asian glass. Is it all the same?

Here we have Pyrex, Kimble, Simax... And colors from GA, Northstar, Momka's, Trautman - all different factories. And this is only boro!!

Now that we are talking more and more about glass from the Orient we probably should not be lumping it all together; I'll bet there is more than one factory over there.

Guangdong province (there are also others) is probably the largest glass manufacturing base in china and there are several glassmaking factories there, some of them concentrating on boro exclusively. I'm pretty sure they all work from the same recipes, although the quality of tubing and rod from factory to factory can differ. It's not unlikely that all American glass distributors obtain their stock from one particular factory. Although the term "asian glass" used by retail outlets most probably refers to glass from China it can also technically include glass which comes from one of the factories in India, as it is part of Asia, although retailers tend to make a distinction.
