Oh ... I also am on a minor on oxycon and recently bought a load more of this beautiful glass - it really is a spectacular color ...

What kind of flame are you using? Try a neutral flame, gentle heat and go from there. I've only used it for spacers so far but just adore it!

I haven't had it bubble or get scummy. It will get translucent if you work it hot.

It doesn't need to be struck so just stick with a neutral flame and it should stay the same color though expect parts to be translucent.

Look at the beads that Renee Weaver did on this post. They are gorgeous. I have tried what she said twice and have gotten some pink but nothing like hers. I wonder what kind of torch she uses.

These were done with CIM Messy Rose Quartz. I made some replacements and if you see the 3rd bead from the left going clockwise, there is some nice transparant there. I replaced most of them with beads that were totally clear, no translucence as I found I worked the glass a bit higher in the flame and it didn't turn for me at all. Beautiful glass...love it.
