Default Studio Set Up Question

I was looking at photos of glass storage and noticed that some torches are set up fairly close to a wall. I have a Carlisle Mini CC...does anyone know how far away from a wall/window I should be?

I have a work bench set up in front of a window, but have been working on a small rolling cart with my torch. It was fine with my hothead, but I'm finding with the Carlisle I need more work space.

Can anyone help?

My worktable faces my ventilation fan which is set into plywood in the opening of a double hung window. I use 2 concentrators and switch off between a CC mini and a piranha. The distance from my torch tip to the fan set in the window is 24". I've never had a problem with the fan or the plywood mounting frame getting hot...the fan has some plastic in its housing so I think I'd notice it!
