Fabulous work AJ! Welcome to a companion obsession for lampworking. I got into this the same way as Beth - to have something that I could do that would go along with my beads that I could do when my studio was too cold or when my kids are around. I have enjoyed trying it on different size mandrels, different numbers of loops, single and double, and even different size wire. I did start using Artistic Wire, but once I tried fine silver I can't go back. I prefer fine to sterling because it doesn't tarnish as easily, and also doesn't work-harden as easily enabling me to use longer strands of wire. I recently tried gold filled - that's really nice too. One of my favorites has been using 30 gauge fine silver wire. Friends watched me do it and thought I was totally nuts because it's so tiny and intricate, but I have the passion to do it so I enjoy it! I'll try to get a photograph to post.
