Shorts holder
We highly recommend this tool offered by a fellow LE member for working with shorts and pulling stringer. It is so well designed (and excellently priced). Its round insulated handle makes working with shorts identical to working with longer rods.
Have a pile of other tools obtained for this purpose over the years, and this is by far the best.
(Hope this review is OK in this forum - if not, it can be deleted)

I highly recommend it as well. I have one and use it to hold skeleton keys as well as shorts. Such a great tool, that I sometimes forget I'm using it and have almost gotten the metal end in the flame!

I have two, because I use it all the time. The first one I forgot about the flame & kind of burnt the metal & the rubber grip your press to open the teeth got messed up, but it still works (I taped the rubber grip back on),

I have one and DID get the metal tips too close to the flame...melted that baby faster than glass! The aluminum clip on mine was very thin, but it loved it until I killed it.

I ordered one and am very happy. Be careful you don't get the rubber part too close to the warmer tho. And may I say Glenn gives very good customer service.

Just adding a further "great tool!" to the list. It holds the rod well and is not too heavy or hard to handle. I am saving $$$ using more of the shorts. Thanks Glen!

If I'm in the middle of wrapping a rod on the mandrel and it is getting warm it is much easier to just let go for a second and grab it with the holder than it is to go find another rod of the same color & warm the end of that one and the one on the bead to finish my wrap.
