Anneal or not?
Hello, i will be making small glass cabochons, for putting them into jewelery. I will be using COE 104 soft glass. Will i have to put them into annealing kiln for the same process that i do with the beads? The diameter of cabochons is 2,5mm. Height is 3mm.

Glass
I used to make a glass item that was the same size you are talking about.
Once the glass had melted as much as I needed, I would open the kiln door and crash cool my kiln to 1100 degrees, shut the door and let it just drop in temperature overnight.
I sold thousands of these glass items and never had a problem.

At that time we only had kiln wash and it worked just fine.
Before we could get Effetre sheet glass, we would fuse rods together to form a sheet.
This required a higher temperature than when doing smaller pieces and because of the higher temperatures, the kiln wash would stick to the fused glass. I could have used shelf paper for that project.
I did lots of fusing of millefiori into clear.
The glass that I was melting was mostly Millefiori for earing studs.
