Default Glasses for boro

I have a boto sampler, and I want to give it a try. What level boro glasses do I need if I decide to do more? Can I try it out with my soft glass didys?

I used Shade 3 welders glasses over didys until I was sure, and then I got a pair of good boro glasses. Not very comfortable but it worked and they're cheap. Working with boro colors with just didys on wasn't good for me, the flare is way too much.
kinda like these http://www.amazon.com/Edge-Eyewear-D...CBYAQXYBBZ2GHB

Thanks, Rebecca. Is there a difference between the shade 3 and the shade 5 boro glasses?

Shade 5 are much, much darker. Hard to see anything, I guess if you're working really big solid stuff they might be OK.

You could try your didy's IF you are just trying the boro out. But, it might be too bright for comfort and you would want at least Shade 3 if you plan to work boro over the long term. Color boro is brighter than clear.

I use Shade 3 for any glass I work with and am happy with them.

I would not suggest you use didys alone at all for working Boro. They are not sufficient protection period. Are your eyes not worth protecting? I use the Philips shade 3s.

Shade 3&5 are easy to find most big box hardware stores, welding supply, and farm stores will have them.

Thanks everyone. I guess I will buy some shade 3 glasses because I don't plan on doing anything too big...maybe an inch or less. Appreciate all the input.
