ChiliPepper Err1 message Help!
So this is my first post that I have created on my own and I'm really hoping I can be helped.
I just bought a barely used chilipepper kiln. It was programmed so I went to start the ramp up and at 82 degrees it said err1. I decided to reprogram it using Lori green burgs directions on her website and now I'm still getting this err1 message.
What does this mean? Am I in trouble?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Marti Ann

Not sure what that message means but if you call Jen Ken in the morning they will be able to tell you. Did you look in the manual to see if it's listed there?

I found this on the Bartlett Instrument Co's web site assuming your kiln has the Bartlett 3-key digital controller
http://www.bartinst.com/KILN/3key.html
Error Codes
Err1 Error 1 indicates the temperature in the kiln is rising during an up ramp slower than 15 °F/hr. If this rate continues for 8 minutes the firing will be stopped. Err1 may be an indication that the elements are worn or that a relay has stopped working.
This website has information on Chilipeppers with other controllers
http://jenkenkilns.com/
I hope you're able to fix the problem. I love my Chilipepper

Thank you so much To you both. The manual did not come with the kiln. I just got it today. The threads and websites you both gave me helped. I unscrewed the box to find out that the elements wasn't hooked up to the connector. I hooked it up and nows it's already at temperature. I guess I should have checked that first! Again, thank you so much for helping out a newbie!
