Bead Bowl Drawing - donate by 6-1-2014
I didn't check the calendar when I said June 1st, so I'm changing that to allow a bit of leeway to mail. I'm going to choose a name on Thursday, so if your picture of your donation is posted when I post that I'm getting ready to draw names Thursday, June 5th, it will be included.
I will be drawing one name, and that person can choose one of the following pieces (scroll down for photos). Three are bowls, one is a "jar" in case they want to use it for a water jar at their work station, etc.
I keep my BOC beads in a pottery bowl until I have enough to mail, (I don't mail the bowl, it's just my "gathering spot") and thought I'd make another bowl to give away to someone. To get a chance at it, send in beads between now & June 5th, but take a photo first if you are comfortable showing us.
Post here that you mailed, & a picture of what you're sending to spur the rest of us on, because we all know how we love bead pictures! To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. (edit: if you aren't entering because you don't want to post a photo, just post that you mailed them)
I'll post a picture of the bowl when it's finished in a couple of weeks, forgot to take one today. I only go to the studio one day a week, so it will be about three weeks before it's done. I will give the option of the donation bowl, or a different piece you can use to dunk your glass in, your choice.
Light those torches, or gather up the ones you've already made, then stick them in the mail! To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I was just thinking of sending some in. Would you be offended if the bowl was used for doh chewie bones? I used to have one I called the chip-and-dip bowl because I kept it full of rawhide chips.

LOL, I won't come & look, but I've put words on it. Courage, Hope, Joy, Love stamped into the outside with leather alphabet stamps. I think Phoebe qualifies for those words with her heart troubles. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Plus, depending on the glaze I'm not sure how much they will stand out, they might be "hidden words" if the glaze doesn't cooperate.
(In other words, you can do whatever you want with it, kind of like the Pirate's Code, more of a guideline according to Pirates of the Caribbean movie)

I was just reading on FB & a mom said she was at their hospital recently, and the hospital was totally OUT of Act of Courage Beads.
Let's light 'em up! To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Eileen,
This is such a sweet thing to do. Thank you. Since my mom has been diagnosed with lung cancer, I've been making Beads of Courage almost exclusively. Now I have to send them in!

I just sent some in (about 3 1-2 lbs) but I'll happily light it up again.
I STILL have a personal goal of breaking Ginger's record of donated beads in a year To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Just trying to remind peeps to mail in their beads, they really read them right now... well, always, but sounds critical right now To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

So sweet of you Eileen! I don't have many right now, and very little torch time, but hope to make some more soon.
How many beads did Ginger donate in a year?

Waaay more than I've made total I think. I was told over 4000? Don't know if they were small or large or a combination of sizes.

Those little guys would look great in that bowl! Such a nice thing you are doing, Eileen! I just sent in a bunch. Don't include me because I already am a lucky winner of one of your bowls. Someone is going to be very happy!

I took the extra two I made, & today I left them at the studio to be fired with the others. They should be ready next week to be glazed, then another week until they're fired & ready to come home. Hopefully at least two will be OK to give the winner of the drawing a choice of which they want! To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. I took a pic with my cell phone, then a pic of the cell screen with my camera, so sorry for the quality!

Hope I haven't forgotten anyone that has been coming to our BOC play dates! If you are ever going to be in Knoxville, msg me and join us if the timing works out. JTV generously allows us to use their lampwork studio at the Jewel School Institute. Plenty of torches, kilns, supplies and fun.
Thanks Eileen!

Here is a horrible picture of my pile o' beads that will be headed out soon. I have some more to dig out of nooks and crannies before it gets mailed.

Eileen, you have a generous heart and spirit. Love what you are doing here. I have a box that I have been gathering beads in. This might be the push I needed to send them in.
All, The beads I've seen are just beautiful and children will love them.
Pat, your little alien looking guys are adorable.

They sure need them last I heard Inez... (push, push, push To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. )
I haven't finished the bowls with the words stamped in them, they still need to be glazed & I missed studio time yesterday, but this is a snap of two of the spare choices. I'll post the ones with the words on them once I get them glazed & fired.
Bowl on the left & "dunk tank" or whatever on the right (has a small spout to rest the mandrel on & make pouring the water out easier.) Please ignore my fancy propane tank cover in the background!
