What is the difference between opal yellow and light opal yellow?
And how do you use them? I have about a pound of the light opal yellow - because they were out of stock of the regulat opal yellow.

I have both and use them interchangeably. The only difference I’ve noticed is that the light opal yellow is lighter than the regular opal yellow. I must say, I prefer the regular opal yellow to the light version. I’ve seen posts on here though where people are looking for the light version specifically. Maybe they know something special about that I don’t!

I prefer the regular (dark) opal yellow. You get much better color reactions (with silver and other colors) with the dark. The light is a nice, buttery color, but it just doesn't compare when with the regular stuff when you want some cool glass reactions.
Cheers
Kathy

Thanks. (In my best Johnny Carson voice) I did not know that.

I did see that Ronnie. Unfortunately I have no extra money right now. Too bad all the Christmas sales happen at Christmastime!

Frantz has opal yellow on sale for 50% off which brings it down to $21 a lb.
They have small rods of it, maybe 4 mm, which is unusual. They also had some big horking ones that were maybe 12mm.

Thanks Ronnie. I do have a rod from a sampler pack and I just may get DH to get me a lb for Christmas. But if you really, really want to send me a rod my addy is in RAOCK.
