Default Fine silver wire not adhering to beads

I was just experimenting with adhering fine silver wire to some beads. When I took my beads out of the kiln, I was able to "pick off" the silver dots with my fingernail. I didn't think this would happen. Do you have to melt in the dots the same amount as when you do raised dots with stringer?

You need to have the glass pretty darned hot when you apply the silver burnish it in and then give it a pretty decent melt.

It depends on what gauge wire you are using. The higher the gauge, the easier it is to get the wire to adhere to the bead.. I usually use 30 gauge.

i marver the silver in so it's at least halfway into the glass or encase it. otherwise i find the silver balls eventually pop out with wear, esp. on bracelets
