Default Veggie Tales beads

I made these for a very special little boy named Grayson who will be honored at a Beads of Courage event I'll be attending tomorrow night in Houston. He loves Veggie Tales, so I hope these make him smile.

Thanks Debbie,

Veggie Tales is a great little cartoon that teaches kids about morals. it is surprisingly entertaining, even for adults. Here is a photo of the characters:

Thanks so much everyone. I got to present the beads to Grayson tonight at Bead Inspired in Katy, TX. He is an adorable three-year old with an angelic face. When he reached into the box and spotted the asparagus (or broccoli or whatever the mystery vegetable is), his little eyes lit up and I could see his joy. There isn't a better feeling in the world than knowing you have brought joy to a child.

I can't imagine what life must be like for that sweet boy's family knowing they will have him in their lives for such a short time, but they were so incredibly brave and strong. Every time I meet the parent of a child in Beads of Courage I am reminded of what heroes they are. I would like to believe that I could have the character to be like them if faced with the same challenges, but I don't think I have that kind of inner strength. They really are truly amazing people!

Wow, I can't imagine meeting the recipient, especially if you were told he is not going to grow up. You were very blessed, but I'm sure it is heart breaking too.

How lucky you were to be able to present beads to that precious child.

I would love to be able to do that but not sure I have the inner strength. This is something you will always remember and it will bring a smile to you every time you think of it.

It was very emotional and I didn't quite make it through without tears. I remember back when I made my first butterfly beads. Took me five years to get the emotional courage to do it. I finally told myself if those kids could face cancer I could face making butterflies.

BOC buys their butterfly beads now, but I wouldn't trade that experience for anything because it taught me that we each have a role to play and we have to find the strength within ourselves to do our part.

Thx for sharing your emotional experience with that little boy & his family. The veggie tales beads are so adorable!
Thx for all that you do for BOC & the lampwork community.
Hugs,
ginger

There are so many kids that know about veggie tales that I bet a tutorial on how to make them would be a big success.

I agree. I just need to check into the copyright issues first and then I'd do it as a freebie. Actually, they are so easy to make the tutorial would be very short and sweet.

Fantastic Diane, I've been thinking of making beads for BOC, and was wondering what kind of beads to make. Your Veggie Tales beads are an inspiration, beautiful work! I'm sure Grayson is proud!
