Default Pyrex Vs. Simax

Hey there, just curious as to anyones imput on whether they prefer boro pyrex or boro simax. I currently work pyrex and havn't had a problem. I've heard Simax is "clearer".. is this true? Just looking for some imput.

In order of preference for me:

Simax
Kimble
UST
.
.
.
.
Pyrex

Not a fan of Pyrex at all. Not very clear, doesn't develop fume well.

I didn't put Schott in that list because I haven't used it enough to have formed an opinion of it yet.

I dont care to but pyrex for two reasons ~Its owned by the DOW chemical corp. and it seems to come scraped up like it was drug behind a truck not to mention there seems to be stretched out air bubbles in the wall that makes one side of the bubble flat.

Schott Duran is the goods in my book.

VERY interesting subject! So, if and when I find some of the "better" clear (Simax/Kimble), is it safe to mix with the Pyrex I already have? Pyrex base bead, encased with Simax or Kimble? I just love the heavily encased look!

Thanks
Vanessa

I prefer Kimble for beads.....
Simax is great for larger works especially more solid things and marbles....

I use Simax and don't have any complaints, but I really want to get my grubby little paws on some of that Schott Duran!!!
