I always keep a small wad of 00 or 000 steel wool at the ready to give a quick rub on my mashers.

Default Rusty Mashers...

Thanks Evelyn and Squid!
That was my first thought. My lesson today includes using mashers. Kind of like an encased hurricane bead? Newbie lessons. One day I will actually post a pic. Otherwise out with my ski pants, parka and hat to torch!! (VISUAL...The Michelin Tire Man torching!)

Anxiously awaiting Spring in New England.
Again Many thanks,
Lisa

If you're going to store them, after the steel wool treatment, I'd spray with a little WD-40 too.
