Default Murinni..how do you start

How do you start to build a murinni? I want to try to do this logo for my club but dont know how to start. Is there a tut that maybe shows how?

There's several tutes. I believe there is a free one for making rose murrini which should give you a starting idea.

I have the rose one somewhere as well as both of Chrissy's from Feng Beads on making Tombo dona style murrini ... but haven't gotten up the nerve to attempt it yet myself.

The rose one I have: http://www.lampworketc.com/forums/sh...t=rose+murrini

Intricate murrini is made in sections and then put together before pulling. however, there is a method of making the pattern in tubing using stringers for each of the colors. One way to do that is to make a stencil of the decal for under the tubing and then add the stringers until the tube is full. Once it is melted together, you would need to pull it into rods, anneal the rods and then nip your murrini.

That logo is going to be at least individual three components that would then be assembled into the final pull. I would suggest that this is not a good one to learn on. You'd be very well served to take a class with Loren Stump to prepare yourself for real murrini making.

I agree with Robert that would be a hard murrini to start with and if you do want to learn to make complex designs like that Loren's classes are the best.

Good luck

Here's another tut for a simple murrini: http://www.listen-up.org/kitty/beads/murini/murrine.htm

Might be easier to start with one aspect of the logo (I'm thinking the dog) and making murrini with that.

Don't forget Ryan's tutorial. He showed you how to make some complex murrinis.
