Default National Torch tips?

I have an 8M National torch. I want to start using Boro, but I am considering getting a larger tip. There is a larger tip SM-21 tip.

Does anybody have experience using this torch with this tip? or do you have an opinion?

Hi Stacie,

I've been wanting this tip, and am just about to order it. I think you have to get the premix adapter too, though, but I could be wrong.

I run my 8M on two oxycons and the 7 port tip, and it does a good job with smaller boro work. I tried a marble about 1 1/2 inches and got really tired!!

Does anyone know if you have to use the adapter with it?

I don't think that you need the adapter. I believe it is a surface mix. My understanding is that you just unscrew the tip that is on there now and screw the new one on. I will probably call first. $107 is kind of steep, but I wont have to change torches, so cheaper in the long run.

no you don't need the premix adapter, unless you want to work with premix tips.

you just need the sm21 tip and screw it in.
