Default dichroic copper foil?

Has anyone used this? I just ordered some and it came all broken or crumpled. Wondering if that effects it and does it really work like the video I've seen....lol

I like the effect more if it's broken or crumbled up anyway. I've tried large pieces of it, and it doesn't capture the light in quite the same way.

Yeah, I ordered it and it came totally disintegrated, opened it and it flies around everywhere. I then went and watched the video to see if I'd missed something, and mine was no where near in a condition to be cut and applied as they did in the video...yikes.

I did try making a bead, keeping it fairly hot, opening the package, and quick rolling the bead in it, but that was fairly underwhelming to say the least.

Not sure where to go with it at this point!

FWIW,
Lea

Valerie and Lea, I'm wondering who you ordered the dichro from. Recently I've only found one place with it in stock and it seems they are on the higher price end; I'm not too concerned that it might be broken as that is how I'd like to use it.

Yes, we just began to carry this product, only found out about it a week ago, got some, listed it on our website and sold out over the weekend. Have ordered more. Pat made some beads with it and it was very special. I wonder if this is also known as Crinkled Dichroic (since it looks crinkled)

I've seen the crinkle on a website that also sells the foil and they appear to be two different products.

Not crinkle, I have that and it's not the copper stuff.

Frankly I don't like the copper stuff much, I find regular dichro easier to use and more stunning.

I bought mine from ABR. Thanks all for the tips and info. I've got a three day weekend coming up so I'll get to try it out.

honestly, I don't see a huge difference between it and encased mica flakes or silver foil left solid. I think it doesn't look like regular dichro-I got some off of my sheet and played with it once. Didn't do much for me.

It's prettiest if you take it off the copper and grind it into tee tiny particles.

But why bother when there is amazing, gorgeous dichro already fused onto clear?

It's easier to apply - and and it is much more resistant to heat for some reason.

Hey - if anyone has some in flakes or crumbles or a crunched up mess they'd like to get rid of, PM me! I posted a "Want to Buy..." a while back in Garage Sale with no offers. Maybe I'll have luck posting here...

I have some and am not impressed. Here's a picture of it over Ekho and encased in clear and it over light blue and encased.
