Default Pastel Ink Blue and Violets

Just looking thru my storage rack and I have Pastel Ink Blue, Pastel Soft Violet, Pastel Violet, and Pastel Dk Violet. All of these rods are fairly close in color.

Do any of them do anything different than just WYSIWYG? Didn't even know that Pastel Ink Blue existed.. lol.... Have too many colors... well, maybe not

"pastel" is just another way of saying solid color (not opalino or transparent) So "Pastel Ink Blue" is the same as "Ink blue".

I've got lots of Ink blue that is transparent. So, I guess my question is ~ are these colors that are almost the same, do they strike or do anything other than almost look identical?

If so, they keep us buying because they have different names...

I've never bought any of those so I have no idea, I think they are just wysiwyg
I've been curious about the 'violet new', 173, like what's the difference with that and the old 172? I haven't used Italian purples since CIM came about, but now you need a loan to afford theirs
But, there are quite a few purples/violets now as you see.

Pastel Ink Blue and Pastel Violet are different colors. Pastel Ink Blue is more lavender and leans toward blue/purple, Pastel Violet leans slightly toward gray/brown.

Both are reactive with colors like rubino, EDp, copper green, etc. Why not make some beads and compare them? And post pix!

I think Pastel ink blue and ink blue are the same one way to test and try some sample beads. I usually label all my glass rods as I get them so even if I mix the colors the date on the glass will be different or the way the label looks because I do them different every time.

lol, perhaps Ink Blue was a bad example to use! Basically I was saying that "pastel" isn't necessarily part of the color name, more the category of colors that it belongs to- pastel, transparent, opalino, filigrana...

Pastel Ink blue is my favourite purple opaque
More blue than EDP, but def purple/lavender.

Ink Blue is a dark purple transparent. Use it over white to show it up best. On it's own it's so dark the colour really doesn't show.
