Copper foil
I want to make a bead with copper leaf but am a little confused about what I should buy. Is the copper leaf we use in beads the safe that is used for gilding?
Where is the best place to buy copper leaf?

You might find it where you buy your rods, I know at least some carry it. I just checked one and they had 25 sheet books for $8 I think.
If you go to a hobby/craft store, be sure you're buying 100% copper.

It needs to be real copper leaf, not an alloy, So beware if you buy from Michaels or another non-glass supply store. Frantz will have the real stuff.

It will say 100% copper on the label. If it says composite, it's not 100% copper. Also, copper leaf is thin and it doesn't "stick" with burnishing like silver does. The part not stuck to a bead crumbles when trying to push it over onto the sides. It's a tad bit messy.

Of course you know this means that you must post pictures when you get them out of the kiln.
