It's cool that you are getting back into it. What happens to me is every time I am not melting glass for some time (a couple of months) I come back with a slightly different take on my style. Sometimes it seems like my techniques are more refined than before.

I have a couple of gaps in glass working; the latest lasted about 7 years. At first is was like starting all over again, but I got back up to speed quickly, and seem to understand glass better now than I did back then.

Beads I did *before* now seem pretty crude and wodgy compared to my current bead skills.

yep, I hear your feelings, I just got back on the torch after having it only here or there for 7 years. I was glad I didn't have to retrain myself! I have missed a lot of new glasses like the silvers I have to catch up on though.

The longest gap for me in almost eleven years was three weeks! It was pretty recently, and because I got burned out. Finally, after ALL that time. But it was mostly because of the way I ran my shop. 100% made to order and I was making the same 120 different kinds of beads over and over again for four years straight.

Most people would have burned out long before I did. But I've got a pretty patient and persistent nature, and making beads was solely for a living. Never for fun. lol

I'm right there with you! I haven't really torched in almost a year! What's wrong with me!!! Lol! It is just like ridding a bike. I find the hardest thing is finding the inspiration and stride to get a streamline thought process in the flame instead of a random pattern of thoughts.
