Default What is this Glass .....

If anyone can tell me what glass this is I'd be really grateful as I really need (want!) some more if I can find it!!!

I got a half rod in a bunch of shorts I got a couple years ago. It's really pretty when melted! I'm pretty sure it is 104 as the shorts I bought were all 104.

I've never seen it anywhere else - clear base with 10-12 (I think!) very, very thin green stripes all around -I couldn't count exactly as it makes my eyes go funny!!

Ive got 2 exact same rods here.
I got it from Grace from the Glass Shoppe and it's supposed to be Lauscha.
I will try to ask her today was it is exactly and I will let you know!

I've checked my past invoices and it's marked as Green Striped Lauscha Rods.
I have no number or anything beside the ''name'' to identify the glass...

Maybe you can send her an email to check if she have more...
Grace @ theglassshoppestudio . com

I sure hope this helped you!

And now, you made me want to melt this glass...
I always forgot I have those rods... Makes a very pretty base!
I made these a while ago... and I really liked the effect.

If it isn't Lauscha, it might be Gaffer Latticino. (I don't have it in green, just raku and black.)

I have large maybe 10mm rods of that. Mine is clear with the colored stripes on the outside of the rod. I have it in blue, green and white. Mine is Lausha.

I will post again when I've heard from Grace if it is Lauscha. I don't think it would be Gaffer as it was 104 box of shorts. Tx for posting!

I had some of this too. It reminds me of gaffer glass. Love those wispy streaky colors!

I got an answer from Grace this morning :

''Hello Liz,

It's one of the specialty rods from Lauscha used for decorative flameworking. In the town of Lauscha, many of the artists use that type of glass to make glass pens.''

I manage to take pictures of the rods.
They must look awsome in glass pens! Never thought about that!
