cooling towel?
With all the heat we've had lately, I'm wondering if anyone has used one of these cooling towels?
Here's an example:

Tell us what you think of it!

I used one at a show last weekend. It's not much different than using a wet dish towel, but maybe stays wet longer and drips less. I think it's a re-branded ShamWow.

I've never seen those. I have one of the gel neck wraps. You soak it in water, I soak mine in ice water and then put it on when I get really hot.
I got mine on Etsy, I did a search and there are quite a few for sale now:

Here is a doo-dad you might find helpful:
Ice bandana
It has packs that can be replaced, so when the first one warms up
take a two minute break and grab another pack out of the freezer.
Here are the extra ice packs:

I cut a two-inch wide strip off the long end of the cooling towel and tie it on as a head band, then I put the towel around my shoulders. It helps a lot.

I don't know if there's anything special in the chilly-pad that wouldn't appreciate alcohol, but when I need to cool down actors backstage, I keep a tub of ice water with a splash of wintergreen rubbing alcohol in it for them to dip towels into. The faster evaporation increases cooling.

I love my chilly pad. Terrific for use on hikes or yard work.

I love the gel neck wraps, even just for around the house. I'm "that age" and dealing with hot flashes, so those wraps are my best friends.
