Help please -- I scratched up my didymium lenses
Yep, dropped them on the concrete floor and almost rolled over them with my chair. Luckily they merely suffered a few surface wounds. Any idea where/who I can go to to have the scratches buffed (?) out? I called my optometrist but they don't do anything on site. I just can't be without them for very long ...

Polishing whilst it c-a-n be done, isnt likely to be a practical proposition.
The cost\time is almost certainly prohibitive - ordering a new pair is likely to be less pricey and more time efficient.

I agree that a new pair is probably about the only really good solution. Buffing out the scratches will change the surface to the point where you'll see a defect or blurry spot when you wear them even if they're nice and shiny.

Thanks, that is good information to have. Yikes, these are clip-ons and cost $90! I can work with them despite the scratches, at least for now. I wish I wasn't so darn clumsy sometimes!

Jewelers Rouge will take out minor surface scratches. It is a polishing compound to be used with a fine felt pad (cerium oxide I think is the official name)
