Default Spiral Beads

I am looking for a tutorial on the encased spiral beads. I don't know if that was the right name but I found an example on LBS's website under the northstar boro color English Ivy The bead on the right is the technique I am after. If anyone can take a look and maybe at least let me know what the technique is called it would be great. I thought I could get it but I tried and failed. Thank you guys again for any help!!!

Hi Michelle:

The style of bead you're looking for is called a "Tornado" or "Twisty/Twisted" Bead! Here's a wonderful tutorial on how to do it by MZ Glass:

http://www.mzglass.com/twistytutorial.htm

There is also this thread on LE here where there was a bit of discussion and definitely a nice set pictured using this technique by Deb of Jaternunky. If you search "Tornado Bead" on the main LE search engine, you'll probably find more info.

Definitely show us what you do, PLEASE!?!

One million thanks!!!!!!!!!! I have little to no opportunity to take classes so the info on this site has been so amazing and everyone is so generous. Thank you Deanne for finding this out for me and giving me the great sites to look at!! I will post pics when I am done with the beads.
Many Thanks,
