That is what I did. I used an attic gable fan. Home Depot had better ones than Lowes when I was shopping. (all metal and higher CFM)

Would I need anything more that just the fan in the wall?

I put cement board (Hardibacker) about 4 inches from the wall. This will help protect it.

Would some type of cabinet have to be made?

Yes, you need something to contain the fumes until the fan can pull them out of the garage. Search the Studio subforum to lots of pictures of different setups.

See cement board above.

I bought a used redmaxx about 5 years ago; it has never been used. I have two refurbished oxygen concentrators; they were never used.
Do I have to do anything special to them?
How do I hook them up?
Is it OK to have the oxygen concentrators under the bench with the torch?
Can they be in the same room?
How do I connect the two of them?
|
Two concentrators will not power the lower torch on the Redmax, but will do the Minor top torch. Search the torch Subforum for info on setting them up and Y ing them together. They can be under the bench or off to the side. More an issue with where they are out of the way than anything.

The propane tank will be under the window (outside).
Should I have some type of covering for the tank?
Can it be placed directly on the dirt?
|
We have this setup now, but will soon be hooking up to the 100 gal tank that will be hard piped in to feed the torches and a heater. We have the 5 gal tank on the ground with no coverings. This does mean that your guages on the regulators will fade, and the plastic will eventally crack from the sun so shade would be good. It is actually best to have the tank 10 feet from the building, but we are failing on that currently. But then the studio is in a seprate building and to move the tank further from it will put it closer to the house.

How should that be hooked up?
I would like the hose to go through the wall so I don't have to open the window. Any suggestions?
Should it have a shut off valve in side as well as outside?
|
If you go through the wall, you will need to hard pipe it in. There are several posts in the Safety forum here about that. One has a good list of parts and pictures.
