Default has anyone had trouble with glass rods in carry on?

I'm hopping on a plane tomorrow, and I'd really like to not to have to check a bag, but I don't know if the TSA will have problems with glass rods. Has anyone had first-hand experience?

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't - completely unpredictable and so far as I can tell there are no hard and fast regulations on such things. I've reached the point that I'll either check rods or ship them to avoid problems with TSA.

I brought an entire suitcase of rods through carry on. I explained what they were, showed them a bead, and everyone was ok. Except me when I had to lift the suitcase over my head!
