Oily film on brass stampings
Hey, guys...
I got some nice stampings from Metalliferous in NYC to use as a base for epoxy clay/glass, and they have a very slight oily surface.
Does anybody have a recommendation for removing it? It's still a bit slick after soap & water.
thanks!

Did you use 'Dawn'? That's been my go to for any oily/greasy substances.

Just guessing, but maybe some water with sudsy ammonia in it?

Do you know that it is 100% good quality brass like what glass imprint tools are made from? Maybe passing it through the flame a few times would take care of it (with good ventilation of course!)

Thanks, guys - I'll get some Dawn, and *DEFINITELY* try the flame pass-thru. Worstcase, it'll give me some cool colors on the brass.
I'll let you know how these work!
