Can anyone tell me if Platinum (999) can be used for fuming?

Many metals can be used for fuming, but it is not worth it. Most don't give you any good color and are usually highly toxic. Stay away is my advice.

I've been playing with fuming and some air trap techs. This is one i came up with. It's cobalt then i pressed part in my vin pin. Then I sprayed a lil silver fume and then gave it a nice lens. Thanks for looking.

I like yours too - seems we are trying the same technique and it always turns out different. This is the magic of fuming

sorry, but I have no tut. But it is a simple fumed tube implotion. Kind of blow a bubble, fume it, add dots and melt the whole thing into a solid - add backing - done

Chummsdoe, I would have to buy two pipes from you. One to use and one, just to stare at and ponder my existence. That is a seriously beautiful piece!
Pat, your honeycombs look fantastic. I like the colors you are getting in the lower pic. great work(fun).

A few new ones. Onekura, in the last two pics, is this what your talking about in terms of termination points? Anyway, thanks for taking a look.

Those turned out wonderful. My favourite is the first one. I think the colours are stunning. With termination point I was talking about the center becoming smaller to get the 3D effect. You got that pretty good in the last 2 pics. compliments Just wondering about the background colour of the first pic? What did you use there?

Thanks Pat and Onekura. The back on the first one is Asian black. There is a slight blue tint from one of the spires of gold/silver that effect the overall look (I think). It is just a frog implosion that I let grow. I also liked how it turned out . Thanks for the termination point clarification, I'll work on that.

I am just working on those thin white lines you can get with silver fume - on the second one I am going for that deep look

Wow! Great pieces!

From me, another simple test piece for fume colors.
Two pictures of the same piece with light from different angle.

PaPi, that is a beautiful pendant. The dimensionality of fumed glass is what makes it so intriguing. Onekura, I saw you lurking around the bead gallery. That wigwag pendant is fantastic. Nothing from me this weekend, work, work work.
