You want the bead not glowing. That spot of triton looks thin too. Maybe that's the problem?

So the thinner the amount the harder to reduce correctly. ...is that it?

It looks like an over reduction to me, too. Strange thing is that only one side looks over-reduced. You could try to reduce the bead by holding it OVER, ABOVE the flame, then move down to the flame (vertically) for the reduction, and then move UP again to bring the bead out of the reducing flame. (Instead of moving from one side, like from the right to the left.)

I hope this is understandable...?!

No. You just see through it in the light because you are seeing through the color. It's just like making a transparent bead of a dark color, and the difference when you layer it over a light pastel. You view it differently. The light reflects differently.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone that contributed their tips and expertise. I torched yesterday using Triton and did much better. I tried everything you suggested and got better results. Again, my thanks!
