My studio is done!!
The only thing I wanted from Santa was a proper studio in the basement. I have had my studio in a garage then in an old shed then in the sunroom and now I have a place of my own!
We hired a contractor who also does HVAC stuff, I wanted to do it right so I have no worries from a ventilation standpoint.
Here is the progress thus far.
We have a 640 Sq. Ft. Basement and I'm only taking about 140 Sq. Ft. The rest is still the boys playroom and my husbands work out stuff.
Update: New pics below in post #7
Before
Back wall taken down, carpet is gone,
studs up for wall and door opening
I'll post more pics when it is all finished!

Wow, that's great. I'll tell you, there's nothing like having your own playroom!

In my studio, I must say I would not like to have a ceiling fan. I think a ceiling fan would blow my flame around, and interfere with my hood ventilation. I like the air going past and up and out the hood. I do not think a ceiling fan swirling the air around in a small space is any help. But then I'm no expert. Are you planning a ventilation hood? Have you thought out your makeup air? Building a studio is challenging. Good luck!

Actually the ceiling fan has been taken down. My ventilation hood is a glasscraft and I've had it for 5 years and it works great! My HVAC guy is going to use 10 inch rigid duct as you get much better airflow than with flex duct.

Thanks Leslie! The workers left yesterday and I have been painting ever since. I am almost done and I can move everything in tomorrow.
