Default pink albasters - I'm losing the color!

They are so pretty in the rod form, and melted, well....

I tried the darkest pink one first, turned the flame waayyy down too, but wound up with a translucent white. Still nice, but not pink!!!

Any special treatment for this glass?? I need all the help I can get! I have a really good customer that is requesting pink beads and I still can't get MAPP fuel for my HH to work the opal Bullseye colors. (recall due to faulty valves) So, I thought I may be able to get somewhere with these lovely pink albasters. Wrong!

I'm on a Bobcat and generator. Thanks in advance!

Working far out in the flame helps.

Lisa,

Work way, way out in the flame as in as far as your arms stretch out. Also, why do you have to work the bullseye opal on the hothead?

I'm so frustrated with salmon pink and the pink opal, because I get streaky "bleached out" areas every time. I try lowering my flame, turning up the 02, working farther out, and even trying to strike the color back. No luck, still not a nice pink like I get on the HH.

Then what's worse is that I love to use fuschia and cranberry Reichenbach frits on the surface to make my "Raspberry Sorbet" beads, and they wind up getting yellowish areas here and there on the beads.

Here's how they look using the HH, and I don't have any pictures of the oxy/propane torched beads. They were terrible.

Stef - those are beautiful. I've never tried that frit so I can't offer any suggestions. I have no problem with the bullseye pinks on the Lynx and I work them normally. Now the alabasters frustrate me completely so they are gathering dust.
