Default baby kiln

hi everyone i was wondering if there was any such thing as a baby kiln? like one that can just sit on top of a table. I don't have enough for a big one YET but am wanting to make my beads the best they can be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I have one. I got it from Mike at the GlassHive and I love it! Its made specifically for people who use glass too. Check in the for sale section you should see something from them in there.

GlassHive makes a very nice series of kilns. Their Short Guy would probably be just the thing for you.

Paragon SC2 is also a small table top size kiln that is great for fusing and annealing.

I've got a little Paragon Quickfire 6 that is marvelous for doing small batches of cabs. It heats fast, cools fast, and some people can even persuade them to do PMC.

I have one of those. I used to use it to test combatibility. Tim uses it to test glazes. It could be used to batch anneal beads, I guess, if you baby sit it.

I have the short guy. I have a rack that fits perfectly and I can fit probably 50 mandrels in it if I stack them well. It comes with on program for annealing and one open program you can set yourself. I totally love it!

Thank you guys!

Here is a link to our kiln page. The Short Guy is about 1/2 way down the page. He is great for starting out, and we will program it to your needs.

It is small enough for your table top, only needs to be placed on two floor tiles for insulation to protect your work surface. It is light enough to be moved easily.

The Glass Hive Kilns

We offer a layaway plan with no interest, set payments, or deadlines. We're happy to answer any questions you have.
