Default should I upgrade?

Hi. I have a nortel minor on a 5lpm concentrator. I would like to be able to make things slightly larger than I am now.

Do I need another concentrator?

The biggest reason I'm considering a larger torch is I get bored waiting for the glass to melt or round up. Would a larger torch and me hurrying just burn everything instead of melting it?

First, get another oxycon. That will give you a hotter flame. A larger torch won't run on a single 5.

I agree. You're not running your current torch at max capacity if you're on a single 5.

You could possibly use one of those rented short 40cf oxygen tanks just to see what your torch is capable of.

You would most likely burn through it in a half hour or less but seeing the torch run at capacity will give you a good idea of the value of upgrading or doubling up your oxycon.

I was happy with a minor and one 5 litre concentrator, but then I got a second concentrator and I was even happier, just sayin.
