my guess is he's referring to a striking red, due to how he worded his question.
i don't think there are any transparent reds that don't strike...

ditto Dragron's Blood for a transparent.
I've had good success with TAG Reef Red (crayon color) if you don't work it long and hot.

NS Cherry, opaque and non striking. I don't know of any transparent reds that are not striking.

The striking red transparents are fairly easy to predict once get used to them, not like AP, DAP, and the rest of that family. The biggest key to the striking reds is getting you thickness consistant. I've never had NS Pomegranite or TAG Red Elvis NOT consistantly strike in the kiln. Even without a strike segment. They strike easily and consistantly.

Ga red crayon is easier to work than cherry, but still needs to be worked cold in the back of flame

I agree NS Cherry, I have been playing with that for a recipe I am trying to replicate and it does stay true if worked cool.
