So do I get it right? The key is not to encase the stripes totally...? And then slooowwwlllyyyy heat it up...
Ok, I will give it another try. It'd better work this time!

Working! The first striped bead that had actually stripes, and the sides didnt pull up on clear (I believe I had too much base bead, and too little casing!).
Thank you for the encouragement and great tips!
Well, it is not the prettiest, but I was concentrating on just the stripes... did burn some clear in process ooops!
Still need to put the clear closer to the base clear. Cant stand how the stripes pull up on top. Oh well, when I am comfortable with the technique, I will start to fine tune it ( I just hope that time comes)!

Pia - I think that looks great! Nicely shaped bead, even stripes, nice thick encasing!

well, thank you Patty... I might be little critical, but I think it is ok for a start. Ok, to be honest, it is waaaay better than the ones I tried before, they were awfull! And I guess the same technique will add to the twistie striped beads.

My first try with this tutorial and while I love it, it isn't quite what I expected.

My second try. Thank you so much for posting this. I'm sure I will get better but this was more than I ever expected to see for a second try.

(If the link doesn't work, edit the s out of your browser. It should be "http" not "https" Sometimes LE put in an S just for the heck of it.)
