Deb you need to make a trip to CA for the annual BABE show there are lots of wonderful LE artist there including HWC his table was amazing!

I have a friend that wanted an acorn for his girlfriend. This is what i've come up with so far. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Nice start everyone, Dave I like the last acorn I think you nailed with that one.
Sorry to drag christmas back into it but I made this for my mother, she collects nutcrackers so I decided to make her one...

The last acorn looks good to me too, but maybe use a rasp or a file to texture the top

Oh and if it were me, I'd get rid of the background & just make a loop out of the stem!

it is in November in Oakland Ca each year, Nikki and I went as shoppers this year we hope to get a table next year

you could use the end a brass tube to stipple the top of the acorn

Marcel, very nice design, I like the mib/sculpture idea.
HWC, dude your stuff is off the hook, I really like the twisty designs you have been posting.
Morgan, beautifull job on the shaping, its so hard to keep things centered when flaring but it looks like you nailed it,

Thanks J, I know what you mean I am tossing lots of bowls and feet but I bought a bunch of inexpensive Asian tubing just for the purpose of learning how to do this

Starting playing around with some of my Northstar boro the other day, ended up with some new keepers . The tree was my first try at real sculptural work, and the turtle was a tube implosion, my second try, hope you guys like them.
