Any tip on shooting blue and periwinkle?
Hi,
I love making beads in blue glass of different colors - especially now for the summer. But I can't get the colors right in the picture wich means I can't put them up for sale on ArtFire.
I use a Canon PowerHot G9 (wich works perfectly for all other beads!) and GIMP image editor.
Any tips on how to turn the blue and periwinkle glass the right color?

Sunlight. There are certain colors that I just can't get to work (usually purples and reds) with my indoor setup (I use an EZ Cube with fluorescent bulbs for most of my photos), so I just have surrendered to the fact that some set just have to be photographed outside on my deck.
It isn't as polished and pretty as my other photos, but the sunlight helps me take true-color photos. I figure that I'm a beader, not a photographer, so I really don't care to put a lot time into figuring out my photo/color problems

Thankyou!
The sun is out today so I'll give it a try.

I was told a few years ago to add a small red something in the corner of your photo. The camera has a hard time with blues but if there is a piece of red it helps the camera take the picture with the correct blue/perwinkle color. I've used it since then and really do think it helps.

Is set my exposure way down, like -2, so the color doesn't explode in the photos. I get much more natural, true blue tones that way.

Good idea! The red trick didn't work so I'm still open to suggestions.
