Smile Clear encased square bead

I am wanting to make square beads. I want a multi-coloured small, opaque narrow core but encased in clear. I want the core bead to stay circular but only the clear encasement to be square-shaped. Can anyone help with how to do this please? Is this do-able? I think this will give a nice icy appearance to the beads. Thanks.

I would make the core and then encase as normal, keeping the core out of the flame. Then, encase again and use mashers to start shaping into a cube. Go slow, keeping the bead warm, and use a marver to keep the ends straight and flat. Hope this helps Jennie

You could add 4 clear dots to speed the process up. Either way you want to heat the surface and keep the core cool.

Neat question, I just made some tonight! Just make as usual, then flatten the four sides. Ditto on keeping the center cool.

These are chunky, but you would do thinner in the same way.

I remember a tutorial years ago; add a glob of clear to each of the eight corners of the cube, then refine the shape.
