Default Studio in the garage

My DH decided to share his space and gave me about 8 feet in the garage. Even though I have to share with the car (the car will be moved when I am working; can't burn the baby or I will be outside!!!)Yes he cut a hole in the siding to install an excellent exhaust system, good thing he is an excellent carpenter. This weekend he is going to start working on my glass storage. I'm a lucky gal! Now I have to learn to work the kiln, LOL!!!
Please let me know if you have any suggestions to make this a "happy" place.

How awesome!! It starts that way you know and then they want to expand you to make room for more glass and tools, then they want their own set up and then they start talking about building a studio! Congratulations on an important first step! Woo hoo!

Hey Cookie!!!

Looking cool...I have this very same kiln and love it!!! Don't know if you bought it new, but if you're looking for basic programing information, here's a YouTube vid that will help:

http://technorati.com/videos/youtube...%3DQyJc0tiwi1Y

I also have a "cheat sheet" on how to program it for ramping up, holding and cool down for working glass, and I can send you a copy if you need it - just shoot me a PM!

Have fun with your new set up!!!

De

I dunno...call me crazy but if I walked into a studio and saw a torch AND a Hemi...I think the Hemi would win...

Nice space by the way...My suggestion for a "happy" place? Tunes, baby...tunes!

Nice space. To make it happy I'd paint the wall periwinkle. It would look great when the car is parked inside too. Have fun!

Congrats!!! I have about the same set up in our double size garage. I have the Hubby's Shelby GT500 (modded to the hilt to boot) sitting about six foot behind me. I don't have to move it out of the garage when I work thus far . Hubby feels that it should inspire me to do more with red glass.
My set up is to the left of his car in this pic...

Hubby also made me a huge storage area on heavy duty wheels for all my glass storage. My kiln also sits on it.

I enjoy me garage set up. Yeah, I drool over some of the other larger studios pics, but I'm just happy to have a little piece of glass studio heaven.

Nothing crazy about it... the Shelby has won out several times when it's been a nice day for a beach cruise. It's the call of the beast speaking louder than the call of the flame.

Hey Cookie,

Did the Hubby get your glass storage finished up yet? More pics?

No, not yet. We are going to use round PVC pipe since we couldn't find the PVC fencing with the chambers.

Default Finished!

Nice space Linda, and great ventilation. What a handy husband! The only thing you need is allot more glass strung all over your worktop & plenty of play time.

Keeping the 2nd torch set up & hoping you still come by! Let me know if you want my fencing resource for the webbed stuff. He's local & cuts it also.

See you soon. Congrats again on your own shop. YAH!

I bought PVC raingutter downspouts - they are rectangular and should work just fine for glass storage.

I don't know what DH was thinking when he gave me room out there.....I have ALREADY taken over the top of the chest freezer to lay out my glass. He better get that PVC pipe cut soon or the glass rods will be inside the house! LOL!
