Default Two Days + Two Determined Women =

One revamped studio!!

My long-time fabulous friend came for the weekend. She brought her energy and creativity along with her. We put it to good use in the studio!

Just had to show off the beginnings of a truly fabulous space in the making. We didn't change that much around but the difference in SIZE and LIGHT is astounding! I'm loving it. I've waited a YEAR for assistance schlepping around heavy cabinetry and installing it properly! Now, it's done and the last cardboard box has been kicked out (literally) of the building!

Last four things to be done: Display for beads (upper cabinets with glass doors); "skirted" fabric for the long tiled table to hide the stored items beneath and a worktable that I have my eye on (when it goes on sale). Plus, artwork! I need flame/torch related stuff for the walls. Does anyone have a source?

Down the road, I'm hoping to permanently set up my second torch. I'm thrilled with this advance though. Humans may now enter safely.

Too bad I can't see your studio pictures! I'm so curious as I'm just finishing up mine and am always looking for new (and better) ideas

Could you post the pics on here?

Sorry about that. I'm not sure what I did with the original link. It should go straight to the studio pics now.

Love your studio! I remember one or two of the glass supply companies used to sell posters but I can't find them now. I did some searching and found these (not lampworking but they are hot glass)...

@Escapade - Yes, the pantry units are from IKEA. Actually, when I took another look at the studio, I realized EVERYTHING with the exception of the kiln shelf/cart is from IKEA. The items were all re-purposed from other rooms when we moved. It's completely coincidental that it looks like their catalogue

@Diana - yes - I fear that is all frit. The other magnetic tins on the double doors have also been taken over for frit use LOL. It's becoming a bit of an issue! The magnetic containers are awesome though. They have little holes on the side to "shake" out some of the smaller frits directly onto the bead or a quick flip of the cap and you can use the container itself as a frit holder to roll the bead in by just angling it slightly.

Thanks for all the compliments. I am really loving the new space!

I cleaned the studio! Things have changed a little since this post. I thought I'd update...

Voila. About as clean as it will ever get!

Wonderful studio!

I bought one of the misprinted calendars from the AGLF Etsy shop and if I had a place to hang the artwork I'd do it. I just got it to look at the beads, great eye candy.
I think she had some calendars she'd actually cut into pieces so people could assemble them into a poster too.

Cheryl,
Great space to work in. Really organized, nice and clean.
I love the bead displays and your table set up.
Thanks for sharing, MarieAnn
