Default Torch top marver temperature.

.
Any ideas what the temperature might be on top of my graphite torch top marver during use?I’m on a Scorpion torch. I’ve been using that to warm up murrini before use, but I wonder if there’s a better way? Looking at mug warmers, but suspect the marver temperature might be higher. Also, that’s one less thing to clutter up my work space.
Thanks team.

I don’t think it would be as hot as a mug warmer. You can work pretty close to the torch barrel without feeling a lot of heat on your hands. If you are afraid to touch it, put a drop of water on it, like you are testing a skillet, and see if it sizzles

If your torch top marver were hot enough to pre-heat murrini, I would think that would indicate some significant damage to your torch body, particularly on a GTT.

When I use my big flame on my CC for a long time, the marver gets hot enough to be uncomfortable, but not hot enough to actually burn me, which suggests it's below ~250 degrees F. And a Scorpion's torch body shouldn't ever get nearly as hot as a CC's since the GTTs are oxygen jacket cooled.
