I tried to look at the classes and couldn't really find a listing of them. Where are they listed on the site? Maybe I'm just missing them? I LOVE las vegas....

Oh! you LIVE there! I guess you go every year?

OH! It looks like a LOT of fun!! (I found the classes). There are several classes that I would like to take. Of course I think that I would be cheap and stay at a cheaper hotel and rent a car. I wish flights were more reasonable to Vegas! I used to go to a work related meeting every year until they decided to move it around.

I'm going and have already signed up for classes. I need to figure out flights and all the rest still.

I've gone for the past three years, and while I really enjoy it and love the choices of classes available, I'm re-thinking about going this year. The Mandrel has so many great classes lined up for 2008, it's hard to choose which ones I want to take, and then there's The Gathering in Oakland this next year. All in the state of California! Although Las Vegas is closer to me than Oakland in driving distance, I would much rather attend The Gathering. It may be years before it's back on the west coast again.

Awww thanks Barbara! I'm going to GlassCraft, not taking any classes... I just like to be supportive of all the vendors and bead makers. Plus, the hubby likes to play the Black Jack machine...

This will be my sixth - I think - year that I will be teaching in Vegas. It is a fun show..great classes and a fabulous venue.

I'll be teaching a beginner's class and a dichro/metals class - both are 2 day classes.

I'm also introducing one of my most fabulous creations ever...ha ha! My hunky (I'm SO biased - so shoot me - I'm a Mom) 21 year old son David will be working my booth while I'm teaching.

Look forward to seeing ya'll there!

Lisa

Lisa, would you be so kind as to put a link to your class listing? Anybody else teaching?

I'll be there, teaching an array of soft glass classes, and sandblasting on the last day. I'll also have a booth, stop by and say hi to Lorry, my amazing mom. I'm actually just going to be there to meet Lisa St Martin's son, after so many years of enjoying her boys in photos, I can't wait to meet one in real life.

I really enjoy GlassCraft. People are very glass focussed, but it isn't just beads, it's a lot of everything. It's a great place to explore tools and supplies. The hotel venue is also pretty affordable (relative to Las Vegas) and the restaurants are good enough we rarely leave the hotel.

Hope to see you there....I think this is a great time to nab a class, the list is up on the site, but I don't think the hard copies of the catalog have gone out (at least I don't have one). Jeri

I'll be there! I will have two tables in the bead bazaar area. This will be my third year as a vendor, but I have been going for about 9 or 10 years. I LOVE Vegas anyway, but this is a great show. They have all types of glass not just beads. The Management company does a good job of putting on the show and the new venue is fantastic! All in all, a good time!

Hope to see you there!

This is a great glass event to attend!! I've attended two of the past three years (broke my dang leg in 2006 so missed!) and I'll be attending in 2008, too!

My suggestion for anyone considering attending . . . GET YOUR CLASSES NOW!! Many fill up fast and you don't want to miss out.

I'm looking forward to it, too, but my roomie had to cancel, so it'll just be SOME of the Italy girls. This brought my cost up, so to get the trip back in budget I'm going to cancel on the PMC class that I was going to take on Saturday and head home that day instead of Sunday. Gonna book hotel and flight today. I'm looking forward to the lampworking classes and catching up with you!

It IS sort of re-unionish! Neil and I are bringing my mom again, and Lisa her son. I knew this was a great crowd last year when we went to bed at 10 and my mom showed up around 1 a.m. When I asked her what she had been up to, she said she had been hanging with those "boro guys" at the slot machines, they were taking turns buying drinks, and she lost track of the time! And she doesn't even know how to light a torch, (although she sure can explain those puffy mandrels!) but she can't wait for this year's Expo. Just proves there's something for everyone.....jeri

We did it last year and had a blast. But this time we have to make reservations, the resturant almost didn't take us because there were so many. I guess we really need to get started on this. I don't have a booth this year and am doing only one demo on stage. So I'm FREE YA HEAR ME,FREE to do what I want.

I'd love to join ya guys too - if my crazy schedule allows it. Let me know the plans.

I'll be in my classroom or at my booth. You guys have to stop by my booth and take pity on my poor son...this is the first show where I won't be with him that much - stop by for a kind word and maybe a potty break. I'll be there during class breaks and all day Sunday.

April is coming up fast!

Can't wait -

Lisa

Hey Lisa, The first show I took my son to was Las Vegas 10 years ago. Between teaching and demos in the Manufacturers booths I was never in my booth. He had to learn fast. Now he's an old pro at it and actually runs the company. Every year I go and never seem to have time to do things that I want to do. This year I will do 1 demo and help out in a few manufacturers booths. But I do plan to have fun this year so LAS VEGAS watch out. I really look forward to seeing you again Patty and that boss of your, he allways amazes me with some of the ideas he has for the next year.
I hope we can all get together again this year again.
Maybe Patty can give us some ideas where to meet.

Ooh, I love the Vegas show! Last year was my first time and I am going again this April since I am in town for the winter. What fun it is! This time I will have help carrying the heavy bags (grin). Hubby likes to stay in the casino and play video poker so I am bringing a friend along this time. Can't wait!

Well I'm happy to get my heavy bags to the car. Found the UPS on MLK Street there. I also buy alot of cloths out there. Use the cloths as packing and send everything home. It sure makes life a whole lot easier than trying to get everything into 2 bags and a carryon for the plane and then get back to Tampa and have half my stuff broken. It's the same for shipping out there for the show. I have everything shipped to MLK Street and they hold it for me for pickup for 5 days. No Union or Carryin charges and it really is cheaper than trying to ship it to the Show.
Geneva.
