Talking It's finally finished!!!

After a couple months and a lot of hard work it is done! I am thrilled beyond belief! Never could hook up with a sheet metal guy so, the hood was a damaged one on ebay ($110 free shipping) didn't need the guts anyway so I got a great deal, the bench top is 3 aluminum sheets screwed down and the back splash is aluminum tile. I am sure sheet metal would have been way pricier! Off to torch!

Pretty cool set up Fran. I especially like the metal work behind the bench. Your kiln above you on a shelf makes me a little nervous though. I think it will be extremely awkward putting beads in at that angle but also a fire hazard sitting on wooden shelf and what if (heaven forbid) shelf fell while kiln is on. Can you not find room on your work top for it or maybe on a cart beside you?

Thanks Julianne and bead-meltdown! Donna, Although you can't see it in the pic, the kiln is on a metal sheet,8 inches away from the walls and my dh, who is a carpenter assures me with the cleat and bracket, it will support the weight of the kiln. Now that being said, I was working in there yesterday and I probably will move it down to the bench top for ease of use. Thanks for the suggestion! I have the feeling I will be fine tuning for a while.

Wow Fran! Looks GREAT!!! Is that a tough shed or something like that?
Your set-up looks REALLY familiar!

I know what you mean about adjusting things, it's been years and
I'm still changing and re-arranging. You will love your studio,
I know you already do. I really like those tiles you used behind the torch.
I used some really dark gray ceramic tiles, yours may be better for
not soaking up the light. I work boro, my glasses are so dark I need
lots of light to see.
GOOD WORK! Thanks for posting this, & I hope that others can
see that it's not impossible to be safe!

Thanks Mary K! I don't know if you remember me asking you a few questions about yours a few months back? It is a tough shed barn. We used your setup as a blueprint(hope you don't mind) along with tips from Dale and others. The tiles are "handy tiles", aluminum, cost about $20. They come in other colors too. I am loving my studio, feels like a really great dream! Thanks again!!!!!!

Heck no, I do not mind! That is exactly why I posted my studio!
Your studio is so pretty and neat. Mine is so cluttered now,
but I clean and declutter almost weekly,
or I can't work in there. I get anxiety when things are too messy,
and I can not be creative when I have anxiety. (Confessions of a neat freak.)
Congrats again, I am flattered that you used my studio as a model.
Oh, and BTW my DH is from Alexandria,La. If we ever go back for a visit,
I'll look you up!
